Agreed by all that the grounds, nature hikes, winter snowshoeing, ice skating, swimming in the lake or heated pool, horseback riding, are amazing. The labyrinth, a 45-minute hike to the top of the mountain rewards you with magnificent views. Expensive!
Although many people loved everything about Mohonk; there are several negative comments about the small rooms, the food, and sometimes - the attitude.
Tip
Visit for the day to check Mohonk out before booking overnight stays. You can stay at a
B&B in Ulster County and purchase a
Grounds Pass
for adults, children, or a family. Hiking maps are provided by the Gate attendant. The suggested walking route from the Gatehouse to Picnic Lodge is Huguenot Trail to Whitney Road to North Lookout Road, a distance of approximately two miles. A ground pass will not allow you to enter the buildings, but you can book a meal at Mohonk allowing you entry.
